Another Neal Stephenson interview, this one doubly noteworthy because 1) it's with Reason, and 2) Stephenson makes significant mention of theologian Walter Wink. My impression is Stephenson's bent is too materialist to entertain the earnest-minded dualism of most theologians, but Wink has clearly captured a significant corner of his imagination, and for provocative reasons.

With a name like "Wink", the poor guy already has a handicap when it comes to being taken seriously. As in, wink-wink, nudge-nudge, SAY NO MORE!
NS does a good job of framing the issue for people who would have difficulty getting past WW's religious perspective. I'd throw in my ten cents, and say that the film The Corporation clearly articulates an important aspect of what Wink is about. The book (of the film) is even better.
