The End Is Nigh

School is almost out, as evinced by our family calendar.

Want a closer look?

If you need a translation, the words in question are: "Last Day of School" "Party" and "Crokinole Day" -- the latter being of particular significance, because after considerable hectoring and cajoling the girls have agreed to play with me. It was either that, or a spelling bee (a weekly event which seems to be in the cards this summer...).

'last day of scole' — This is perfectly good spelling in, say, the 15th or 16th century. What have you got these kids reading anyway? : D

Perhaps you should also introduce the girls to ping-pong and gardening to accompany the impending spelling bees. Then next census you could list your ethnicity as Asian/Mennonite...

PB - I realized too late that I should have titled this "Thee Ind iz ny", or somesuch.

TR - ping-pong is a stretch, but gardening isn't entirely out of the question. Lots of weeds to be taken care of...
